Beanie for Brain Cancer Day

Our SRC held Beanie for Brain Cancer Day to support the Mark Hughes Foundation. We raised $1395.95 to help people affected by brain cancer. Thank you to everyone who donated and joined in! The Beanie Design Competition was also a big success, with many creative entries. Well done to all who took part, and thanks to our SRC for making the day special.

Wiley Park Zone Athletics Carnival

Our students showed pride, determination, and good sportsmanship while competing, and did very well. Everyone who joined in showed our school values by trying their best, working together, and being kind and respectful. We are proud of all their efforts and achievements—WPPS was represented wonderfully!

100 Days of Kindergaten

Kindergarten recently celebrated their first 100 days of school by dressing up like they are 100 days old!

It was a day filled with fun educational activities.

K–2 Spelling Bee

Wiley Park Public School recently held its annual K–2 Spelling Bee with two candidates selected from each class to compete against their peers within their year group. All students performed exceptionally well, confidently spelling words. Congratulations to our placegetters.

Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking - District Finals

Congratulations to Ayaz, Zafreen, Taj and Ali for their outstanding achievements at the district finals competition held at Yagoona Public School. All students spoke confidently and clearly on the day and represented the school with pride. Great job! An extra special mention to Ali who received a Highly Commended Award for his speech.

Thank a First Responder Day

The SRC organised a Thank a First Responder Day fundraiser. Students wore blue, teal, and orange to represent various first responders. We raised $790 for Fortem Australia. Students learned about the work of first responders in class, and NSW Ambulance guests spoke about their roles.

PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE (PRC) 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

We celebrated the Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) 25th birthday with Taronga Zookeeper Mike, author Kristin Darell and PRC representative Jade. What a fabulous day for all.

‘KIDZ ZOO’ IN-SCHOOL VISIT

In Science, Kindergarten have been learning about what living things need to survive. They had a wonderful time with the animals in the 'Kids Zoo' in-school visit.

NATIONAL WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY

Students at Wiley Park Public School participated in the National Walk Safely to School Day. The students were encouraged to walk to school with their families, promoting healthy lifestyles, road safety awareness and environmental sustainability.

Year 3-6 Spelling Bee

Congratulations to the Year 3-6 students who were involved in the annual Spelling Bee. Well done to all students.

Kids 4 the Planet Competition

Selected Stage 3 students were involved in the Kids 4 the Planet competition held at Lakemba Public School. Our students were involved in various activities such as Art, STEAM, Public Speaking and Writing. The theme of the day was Peace and Sustainability.

Inter-School Chess Tournament

We hosted an inter-school chess tournament with Punchbowl Public School, featuring 58 student participants who played six rounds throughout the day. The event showcased excellent sportsmanship and respect among competitors.

Year 3 Australian Museum Excursion

Our Year 3 students had a fantastic day at the Australian Museum and managed to bravely escape the dinosaurs!

Year 4 State Library Excursion

Our year 4 students had a wonderful time at the State Library of NSW. Despite the rainy weather, students explored the library, asked thoughtful questions and discovered many new and exciting things. A fantastic day of learning, curiousity and adventure.

Book Week

During Book Week, we had a visit from the amazing author Fiona Lloyd. Students were inspired to become authors just like her!

NAIDOC Week

This NAIDOC Week, our students immersed themselves in a variety of fun and educational activities that celebrated the rich history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. From engaging sessions about significant tools and instruments to traditional art workshops, it was a great way to understand the deep connection First Nations peoples have with the land and to celebrate their amazing culture.
