A year at our school
Thank a First Responder Day
Wednesday 10th June
The SRC organised a Thank a First Responder Day fundraiser. Students wore blue, teal, and orange to represent various first responders. We raised $790 for Fortem Australia. Students learned about the work of first responders in class, and NSW Ambulance guests spoke about their roles. Thanks to everyone for supporting this cause!
PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE (PRC) 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
We celebrated the Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC) 25th birthday with Taronga Zookeeper Mike, author Kristin Darell and PRC representative Jade. What a fabulous day for all.
‘KIDZ ZOO’ IN-SCHOOL VISIT
In Science, Kindergarten have been learning about what living things need to survive. They had a wonderful time with the animals in the 'Kids Zoo' in-school visit
NATIONAL WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL DAY
Friday 22 May 2026,
Students at Wiley Park Public School participated in the National Walk Safely to School Day. The students were encouraged to walk to school with their families, promoting healthy lifestyles, road safety awareness and environmental sustainability. It was wonderful to see so many students taking part in this important initiative. As a special reward, the students who walked to school received a temporary tattoo to celebrate their participation and commitment to safe and active travel.
Year 3-6 Spelling Bee
Wednesday 17th June
Congratulations to the Year 3-6 students who were involved in the annual Spelling Bee. Well done to all students.
Kids 4 the Planet Competition
Wednesday 17 June
On Wednesday 17 June, Stage 3 was involved in the Kids 4 the Planet competition held at Lakemba Public School. Our students were involved in various activities such as Art, STEAM, Public Speaking and Writing. The theme of the day was Peace and Sustainability. Mr Forman
Inter-School Chess Tournament
Thursday 4th June
On 4th June, Wiley Park Public School hosted an inter-school chess tournament with Punchbowl Public School, featuring 58 student participants who played six rounds throughout the day. The event showcased excellent sportsmanship and respect among competitors. Wiley Park students performed well, with Ruwayfe (6T), Taj (5S), and Ryan (6O) earning the highest scores. The competition will continue next term with a return match at Punchbowl PS.
Year 3 Australian Museum Excursion
Tuesday 2nd June
Our Year 3 students had a fantastic day at the Australian Museum and managed to bravely escape the dinosaurs!
Year 4 State Library Excursion
Tuesday 26th May
Our year 4 students had a wonderful time at the State Library of NSW. Despite the rainy weather, students explored the library, asked thoughtful questions and discovered many new and exciting things. A fantastic day of learning, curiousity and adventure.
Stage 2 Team
During Book Week, we had a visit from the amazing author Fiona Lloyd.
The children got super inspired to become authors just like her!

NAIDOC Week
This NAIDOC Week, our students immersed themselves in a variety of fun and educational activities that celebrated the rich history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. From engaging sessions about significant tools and instruments to traditional art workshops, it was a great way to understand the deep connection First Nations peoples have with the land and to celebrate their amazing culture.
Beanies for Brain Cancer
It was a sea of beanies when our WPPS community took part in our annual SRC led Beanies for Brain Cancer fundraiser. All money raised went to the Mark Hughes Foundation.
News from the Library
There was lots of excitement when author James Foley visited our Stage 3 students. He discussed the writing process with our students and they got to ask some questions.
