Year 1 and 2 Elizabeth Farm Excursion
The excursion to Elizabeth Farm complemented the work students had been doing in History. It provided children with hands-on experience where they discovered how the early families in Australia lived without running water, electricity or modern appliances. They had a great day!
The Harmony Day Assembly
Tuesday 24th March
The Harmony Day Assembly in Week 9 celebrated friendship, unity and belonging. The school band opened with “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars, arranged by Ms Hiromi. Year 6 students showcased their developing samba drumming skills, learned over two years, playing Brazilian percussion instruments and adapting others like djembe drums and snare drums. Their performance included a samba reggae piece featuring “Get Up, Stand Up” by Bob Marley, arranged by Batucada Funk, with thanks to Stef, Gary, and the group for supporting Ms Young’s skills development. The students demonstrated skilful teamwork, rhythm and musical growth, making the event a memorable Harmony Day celebration.
Harmony Day
On Tuesday 24th March, Wiley Park Public School celebrated Harmony Day. All students participated in activities throughout the day to celebrate and had the opportunity to engage in Harmony Day lessons with their teacher and another teacher. In the afternoon, the school had a large amount of the community come to view a performance and the Library hosted a Book Fair. Please see the school's Facebook page to view the video of the performance and see the variety of photos of students participating in classroom lessons about Harmony Day.
